There is a version of a day trip in Tuscany that most people recognise. A coach leaves Florence at 8am, stops at the same three viewpoints as every other coach, gives you 45 minutes at the Piazza del Campo in Siena, and returns in time for dinner. You have seen the postcards. You have not really seen Siena.

There is another version. Your driver collects you from your hotel at whatever time works for you. The route is the one you agreed in advance — or the one your driver suggests based on what you actually want to see. If you spend longer than planned at a vineyard in the Chianti hills, that is fine. Nobody is waiting. Nobody else is on board. It is your day, not a schedule built for forty strangers.

We have been running private tours and excursions in Tuscany since 2004. In that time, the request we hear most often is not a specific destination — it is this: "We want to do it properly, without the crowds." That is what a private excursion means. Not a premium version of a group tour. A completely different experience.

We offer two types of excursion depending on where you are starting from. Private city tours are for travellers based in Florence or elsewhere in Tuscany who want to explore the region by day. Shore excursions are designed for cruise passengers arriving at Livorno or La Spezia, with timing built around your ship's departure and a guaranteed return to port on time.
